Today, 6 PM, starts the official ceremony of giving the "Sword of Romfeya" Award, founded by the Romfeya Art Salon owners. Romfeya used to be the weapon of the Besses - the symbol of freedom of the only tribe that had not been conquered by the Romans. "That symbol is truly important to artists as well - freedom is the key thing to creativity", explained the gallery manager, Boyko Vatev.
The "Sword of Romfeya" award was founded as an evaluation of extraordinary artisitic achievements of Bulgarian artists who have exhibited in the gallery. A dozen of the most eminent artists have received the unique plastic work of the sculptor Andrey Mosskov as their Romfeya Sword award in the ten years' history of the gallery. The jury includes Boyko Vatev, Kamen Shishmanov and the art critic Neycho Doychev. "Each year the competition gets harder and harder...", explains Kamen Shishmanov.
