Thirty years ago the project for creating a large region within Plovdiv was awarded with an order by the then communist authorities. Surely today the area has its serious problems with its population of a middle-sized town.
The celebrations will start next week featuring every day concerts at the open-air stage next to the Trakia Mall, a beer festival, sports competitions, demonstrations of parachute jumps. All previous mayors of the Trakia region are VIP guests to the events.
