Plovdiv is part of the Earth Marathon of the Japanese actor and runner Hazama Kanpei

The marathon actor-runner Hazama Kanpei will be crossing the city of Plovdiv today, Dec.2, 2009 on his world marathon called Earth Marathon. For one year he has covered more than 28,000 km sailing and running.

Here is the info on the marathon in the Japanese medias: 

Comedian Hazama Shigemi (better known as "Kanpei" Hazama) began his 36,000km circumnavigating run and sail in Dec.2008.

Hazama's adventure is titled "Earth Marathon", and will see him sail 16,000km and run 10 hours a day when on dry land. The journey aims to draw attention to Tokyo's bid for the 2016 Olympics.

Hazama's website earth-marathon.com will be posting video of the adventure at regular intervals.
