The art lovers in the town of Velingrad are going to have an unique chance to enjoy the works of the world-famous artist Nikolay Roerich. Yesterday, 5 PM, the Town Art Gallery in Velingrad opened an exhibition of about 20 of his works.
Ever since May 30th, 2005, the National Art Gallery of Foreign Art (Sofia) has opened a constant exhibition of 74 paintings by Roerich, exhibited in the Roerich Hall. That is part of the altogether 200 of his paintings donated by his son Svyatoslav Roerich, that the National Art Gallery of Foreign Art (Sofia) disposes of. That makes the BG collection of Roerich works the 4th largest in the world after the US, the Russian and the Indian ones.
