New archeological finds resurface

A golden breastplate with floral motifs and a golden ring with a jet plate were dug out by the expedition led by archeologist Georgi Kitov near Sliven, Southern Bulgaria.

The jet plate on the ring bears an inscription of a man playing the lyre, presumably depicting Orpheus or another Thracian deity. The burial mound, which is believed to have contained the remains of a Thracian King, had also silver and bronze vessels in store. The findings have been dated back to the 5th c. B.C.
