A new bicycle alley in the Tsar Simeon Garden will be opened in the next few days. The alley starts from the Avksentij Veleshki Street next to the Ivan Vazov National Library and ends at the Central Post Office. The bicyle alley is going to be 940 m and is suitable for teaching young kids the traffic rules and for disabled and handicapped people.
Each of the six areas in Plovdiv will feature a bicycle alley. The first one, located in the Lauta Park between the Agrarian Univestity and the Trakia area, opened about a month ago, is already functioning. The financing, though, is not by the municipality budget but by sponsors, among which two privately owned radio stations.
