October 4th - Boris III becomes Tsar of all Bulgarians

Tsar Boris III was born on January 30th, 1894. He steps onto the throne on October 4th, 1918 (at the age of 24), after his father, Tsar Ferdinand has abdicated after Bulgaria being defeated in WW1.

Our country was obliged to give away some of its territories to neighboring countries, to pay off huge reparations. Two newly founded political movements - the BZNS (Agricultural Party) and the BKP (Communist Party) both raise their voice against the monarchy.

That was the political picture of the time when Tsar Boris became a monarch. He managed to strengthen the regal authority.
