Initially, the uprising started in the Bitolya revolutionary section but it spread up into the Edirne region (aka. Adrianople) as well. Although the heroic attitude of the revolutionaries, the Turkish army outnumbered them and was much better equipped which led to the brutal suppression of the uprising. Although short in duration, that uprising has a large historical input.
