Anniversary of the death of St Naoum of Preslav and Ohrid

St Naoum of Ohrid was the youngest of Cyril and Methodius? disciples. He was born in the town of Devol, in today?s Macedonia, he taught the Christ?s faith, lived there and died there. His relics are believed to cure diseases.

St Naoum of Ohrid died on December 23^rd, 910, when he is commemorated. But probably due to the fact that this day is during the winter, and during the Christmas Fasting period, the Ohrid Episcopate (which was an independent entity until 1767) declared the day June 20^th as the official Day of St Naoum.
