Today, when the Orthodox Church celebrates the Day of St Minah (November 11th), we also celebrate the day the eminent Bulgarian revolutionery Angel Kanchev was born in 1850, in the town of Tryavna.
During his studies in Belgrade, he was in close connections with Vassil Levski, and was later appointed as his assistant.
In 1872, while attempting to enter Romania and about to be caught by the Ottoman authorities, Angel Kunchev committed suicide (he was only 22 years old).
