The Council is a consultative organ with the Municipality Mayor, responsible for the tourism development. It has been created based on Art.10 of the Tourism Law. The Council had its first meeting today. It consists of 17 memebers, half of which are employees of the Municipality and the Municipal Council, while the other half are representatives of non-governmental organizations – the Tourism Association, the Restaurant Owners’ Association, the Craftsman Association, etc.
Commission of experts of all branches is going to be created to develop a concrete plan for all the events taking place on the territory of Plovdiv Municipality and Plovdiv region.
Strategy for the development of tourism in the region is goignt o be developed until the end of this year.
