Bulgaria's figure skating dance couple Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski are the new world champions.

The duo defended their title for the second time at the World Championship in Japan, performing a dance to remember in the third stage of the competition.

Bulgarian couple climbed to the top bringing their total up to 102.09 points.

Second ranked Canada's Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon. The Americans Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto took the bronze medals.

"We were under deadly pressure but still managed to perfectly perform our free dance. The feeling is incredible!," Albena Denkova said.

The Japanese women are crazy about Bulgaria's Maxim saying he looks like David Beckham.

"It would have been great if I earned as much money as him," Maxim said jokingly.

There are no prizes in the ice skating, which Bulgaria's representatives have not won yet.
