The Heros Horse Racing Club
The Horse Racing Club is named after the most famous and respected Thracian god, known as the Thracian Horseman (but also given the Greek name of Heros in many reliefs and inscriptions). The Heros Horse Racing Club owns the largest horse-riding base on the Balkan Peninsula. It is located just 6 km north of Plovdiv, in the village of Voyvodinovo.
The Heros Club was founded in 1982. The three stables of the horse-riding base feature 200 horse boxes and one pull-box, offering perfect opportunities for raising and training of horses of all breeds and ages. The club offers training by qualified experts to all the fans of horse-riding. The adjoining hippodrome hosts high-ranking horse races and various tournaments and championships.
The preparation for the July 2004 Balkan Steeplechase Championship has already started. Margarita Gomes Asebo, wife of the Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and Bulgarian Horse-Riding Federation Honorable President, has been invited to be the Patron Figure of the Event.
