Nayden Todorov was born in 1974 in Plovdiv. He received his first piano lessons at the age of five, and by sixteen had led his first concert as conductor. He studied with Alexander Vladigerov in Sofia, and later with Karl Osterreicher in Vienna. In 1993 he graduated summa cum laude from the Dobrin Petkov High School of Music in Plovdiv, specializing in trumpet, piano, conducting and composing.

The same year, 1993, he began his conducting studies under professor Uros Lajovic at the Music University in Vienna. He is a winner of numerous musical awards from various musical competitions: the Svetoslav Obretenov national competition, the competition for Czech music, the Special Prize of the Slovakian music funds, the Borghese Foundation Prize, the Zdravko Manolov Prize, the Sofia Prize for the production of the opera Faust by Gounod with Sofia National Opera, and many more.

He has conducted various orchestras in Europe, Asia and America. From the year 2000 Nayden Todorov is Music Director of the Plovdiv Opera & Philharmonic Society. He is also the Music Director of the popular Thracian Summer International Music Festival.
