Mario HOSSEN is a prominent representative of the Bulgarian violin school. A virtuoso of an impressive style of performance he masterfully combines the classical approach with a filigree romantic expressiveness.

The musician does not overlook the works by contemporary composers, showing keen responsibility and interest to the modern musical scores. Mario Hosen began playing the violin in Bulgaria. He made his debut as soloist with Orchestra at the age of eight. He furthered his studies with the famous violin pedagogue Professor Michael Frischenschlager, Rector of the Vienna Music Academy. The virtuoso performer graduated with award of the Austrian Ministry of Culture for outstanding artistic achievement. His work with prominent performers and music pedagogues like Darina Dankova, Evgenia-Maria Popova (Bulgaria), Gérard Poulet (Paris), Ruggiero Ricci (USA), Ifra Niemann (London) lent an important impetus to his musical career. He is a Soloist with international reputation.

He has performed with orchestras including the English Chamber Orchestra, West Deutsche Rundfunk Orchester, Bruckner Orchetra Linz, Nord West Deutsche Philharmonie, Orchestra da camera de La Scala di Milano, Radio Symphony Orchestra of Prague, Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, Osaka Symphony, Josef Suk Chamber Orchestra, Wiener Jeunesse Orchestra, Ankara Presidential Symphonic Orchestra, Camerata de Versailles, Cappella Istropolitana, Orchestra di Venezia, Charlotte Philharmonic, Baltic Philharmonic, Philharmonic Budapest, Orquesta Sinfonica del Estado de Mexico, Orquesta Sinfonica UANL, the Bulgarian National Radio Orchestra, and many others. He has been met with a storm of applause in USA (New York- Carnegie Hall), Austria (Brucknerhaus- Linz, Konzerthaus- Vienna), Switzerland (Victoria Hall- Geneva, Tonhalle- Zurich), Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Latvia, Croatia, China, Japan, and other venues across the globe.

His concert appearances with all 6 Paganini Concerts, the 24 Capricci, and the 10 Beethoven complete Sonatas have been met with acclaim by critics and audience alike. The violinist is holder of many international prices and awards. He also serves as Artistic Director of the International Music Academy Orpheus. He is a guest professor in the New Bulgarian University Sofia and Prof. ass. in Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía Madrid.

Mario Hossen plays the 1749 G. B. Guadagnini violin, a loan of the Austrian National Bank.
