A new hypothesis has recently popped up regarding the famous four journeys of the Holy Apostle Paul, described by St.Luke in the New testaments, Acts of the Apostles. It is connected to his second and third journey - in the text there is a reference to St Paul visiting twice Phillipo (polis) that after some phonetic processing has remained as Phillipe.
It was believed so far thta the reference has meant the tiny little small town of Krenidres (ancient name: Phillipe) in northern Greece, between Kavala and Drama. Now scientists are starting to develop the theory that it actually might have been meant Plovdiv (ancient name: Philippopolis)....
Waiting for further research on that!
