1. The Plovdiv City Gallery opened a retrospective exhibition of works by the eminent Plovdiv artist Prof. Ivan Kirkov. The exhibition is on the occasion of his 70th birthday. According to the art critic Svetla Moskova, ?he had devoted himself and his talent to existing by creating illustrations.? Some of his plastics facade ornaments are the mosaics of the Sofia Central Station and the murals on the facade of the Ivan Vazov National Theatre. As a teacher at the Art Academy he created a generation of the 1980s and the 1990s with a really contemporary vision. ?The exhibition is unique because Ivan Kirkov belongs to the group of the first Bulgarians to step into the world of the modern Europe already in the 1960s? , were the words of the art critic Krassimir Linkov at the opening of that exhibition. The artist himself shares the following: ?I draw slowly but I have nothing to hurry for. My life motto is to feel free.?
