The Lauta Park Project

8/9/2003 12:00:00 AM

The park that separates the central part of Plovdiv from the largest housing complex Trakia, is called the Lauta Park and is situated on a territory of 12 decares. Right next to the park a unique sports and amusement center was opened October 2002, called The Lauta Carting Racing Track.

The object is run by the Delta Cart Ltd. The next step of the development of the complex will be the construction of a restaurant, a bowling and a ?Club F1?cocktail-bar.

Another municipality project is starting, as reported by the Maritsa Newspaper, that will turn the Lauta Park into what the Boulon Forest is for the citizens of Paris (according to high ranking Municipality officials). The project includes the following: sanitary felling of trees, trimming of trees crowns, installation of benches and surfacing of the alleys, placing sand boxes at the playgrounds, moving away of the construction waste materials, planting grass and new types of trees.

Nothing is mentioned, though, about availability of lights in the park. With that project, the municipality will apply for funding to some American organizations, and is expecting funding amounting to 58 000 US Dollars. The finalization of the project is planned for May 2004.
