Helikon is turning the former Republica Cinema premises into a European Book center

Each city has its own feature buildings that have helped creating its unique aura. In the 1920s the Plovdiv main street got a new building: the Piccadilly cinema where people used to go to see back-and-white movies. After 1944, the new communist authorities renamed the cinema to "Republica"...
Today, the largest book selling company in the country, Helikon, is rehabilitating the glory of that old-times building by transforming it into a European Book Center.
