Fifth Bulgarian soldier died in Iraq

Nikolay Saraev, Lieutenant, 27 years old, died in Baghdad today, being very seriously wounded in yesterday's terrorist attack against the Bulgarian military base in the Iraqi town of Karbala. His death was reported at a press conference by the Defence Deputy Minister Ilko Dimitrov. Gen. Nikola Kolev, Chief of Staff, also attended the press conference. He reported twenty-seven Bulgarian soldiers wounded, six of which in critical condition.

Lieutenant Nikolay Angelov Saraev was born in 1976 in the town of Kroumovgrad. After graduating from a language school, he enrolled to the Military Academy in Veliko Turnovo in 2000. He specialised in the Delta Force Academy in Fort Bragg.

We would like to pay our last respect to yet another Bulgarian soldier, losing his life in peace-keeping missions around the world.
