Днес е Мишкин ден

На 27 октомври църквата почита Свети Нестор, а народните обичаи следват повелите на Мишкин или Мишин ден. В иконите Св. Нестор обичайно се изобразява като млад мъж с пика в ръка. На този ден се препоръчва да не се работи, за да не нападат мишки брашното и житото; да не се бърка в брашно и не се дава заем – за предпазване от мишки. Жените не трябва да използват остри предмети и сечива. Не режат с нож и ножици, не секат дърва, не плетат с куки, не шият с игли, "за да не косят мишките посевите с острите си зъби". Ако на 27 октомври вали сняг, добре е за пчелите и меда.
